I honestly think the scariest thing about Junko is you really dont know what shes thinking or feeling

As much as she shows this darkly comical side if her at least to me it all feels like a peformance to me, shes an actor taking the stage all her personalities and lies upon lies

In reality, she's cold and calculating. Everything she says and does is an act to the point. im not even sure Junko knows who she is anymore, her mind lost in true, unrelenting despair at existence. She can't be reasoned with, her mind can't be changed and she can't be saved, it's also why I see her to be so tragic, she's a victim of her own mind and circumstances.

Truely a hopeless being, beyond hopeless even despair is all she knows, theres no timeline where Junko can be saved without fully changing her character. Part of me wonders if its why mukaro helped her do some truly dospicable things, knowing her sister wasnt essentially a dead woman walking, her only real family lost to her own despair.

God just have so many thoughts about her just in awe of her as a character. Someone a lot of people see as this super shallow villian being evil for the sake of it while i cant unsee her as this complex character way beyond mindless evil, someone always doomed to be the villian of her own story who decided if she was doomed to never taste hope, to feel what its like to never feel complete or truly happy then why should anyone else.

Okay but after reading @rainbow-crane make their character analysis for Sayaka I realise how much of a placeholder tutorial guide she is.

Like @yukiteruakari told me about the idea that first and second (I MIGHT BE WRONG ABOUT THE CONCEPT AND IM SO SORRY IF I AM) and how they're in a loop trying to stop Danganronpa, but Leon always ends up being the first blackened, he does everything to stop it. But Sayaka each time breaks the fourth wall and helps the player through challenges.

It's almost like she knows what's going to happen - she can't stop it - but this isn't the first makoto, this is the 5-millionth Makoto (based on copies bough in 2021).

They have no idea what they're doing or what they're in for, but she does. a "You don't know me... but I know you." kind of moment. She knows everything, but even the other characters like Aoi, Kyoko, Mondo, Kiyotaka etc. think that they're in the universe for the first time, they don't know if they're going to die, even Junko doesn't know what's going to happen.

Just Sayaka and Leon. Fighting to stop Danganronpa THH from ever beginning. And as the player if you advance you get no more guidance from them. They're stuck dead in your game, but they thrive in their version of an "au" (just another copy of the game) almost as if they're begging the player to stop. But it's against the game. It's against the code and they can't do it. They have to follow the dialogue when Makoto/placeholder/-Y-N is near. Almost as if every other character when Makoto isn't around just freezes and stands still, and Sayaka and Leon are the only ones actually functioning unless Makoto is near or they have an interaction coming up with him.

They know what happens. They know that they kill eachother. Nothing can stop it from happening, and once they die they don't continue the game. They don't know who lives and dies next because everybody else other than Makoto/Placeholder/Y-N is just coding that gets removed.

First of all, I am open to asks for every AU always! Lol.

For Junko, I'd say that her ability to plot things out is largely intact. Her ability to reason through the consequences of different actions in advance is not as sophisticated as it was before, but it's still really impressive for being undead. She's a lot more lucid than the others, but that said, I don't currently think she has an overarching ambition in this AU.

For one thing, just being undead is such an acute taste of entropy that she no longer feels so bored and dissatisfied all the time. So much about her body and mind are new, she subsists on murdering people, and just so much is wrong that, like Nagito, I think this might lowkey be kind of the best timeline for her.

Hope's Peak created this virus. Hope's Peak created this despair. Her point about despair is pretty much already vindicated, and she knows this won't stay contained. Her need to self-aggrandize is subsumed (at least for now) by her fascination with her new self; her need to spread despair is satiated by just the absolutely miserable situation of the Reserve Course and the pretty much guaranteed upcoming escalation when the undead breach containment; any urge she feels to be destructive and contrarian can easily be expressed by leaving the classroom and trying to eat someone before Makoto finds her; and all the while, she's experiencing the friendship and comradery with her classmates that she enjoys.

Makoto is taking care of her, and she genuinely likes that a lot. She loves getting her hair brushed, and the strained look on his face when he wipes blood from her mouth, and the quick reflexes he's developed to avoid her attempts to bite him. Between that and the occasional video calls from Yasuke, she's feeling pretty great.

I'm not saying Junko will never act mastermind-y in this AU; just that, for some length of time, she is satiated by the status quo. I think, if she does manifest a deeper goal than just enjoying herself, the first new goal she might pursue is that of making Makoto realize how Hope's Peak is using him and what Nagito has been up to. She would want Makoto to know what the Reserve Course's real role here is, and that it's not really accidental.

Now, Mukuro! I mentioned her briefly in this post and some others, but you're right that she hasn't really had focus. Mukuro's dexterity and fine motor skills are among the highest, of the undead, in that she can still hold and wield weapons.

She's still fiercely protective whenever Junko is under threat, but other than that she operates as a normal social presence in the class, just because my own headcanons (anime notwithstanding, lol) have her and Junko act like their relationship is normal, at school. Unlike Junko, Mukuro's grasp of consequences and general human behavior is greatly decreased. Her combat intelligence, as in fighting and battle strategy, remains, but her human intelligence is severely impacted.

Like in the hyperlinked post, she complies when Makoto takes her weapons away, but she doesn't understand that he doesn't want her to have weapons. When he tries to tell her, she just stares uncomprehendingly. She likes his face and his smell and how gently he handles them.

I'm picturing Mukuro curling up with Junko to sleep and Junko continually pushing or kicking her away, with groggy little movements, and Mukuro just casually crawls back, until they both fall asleep about a yard away from each other with Junko's foot against Mukuro's stomach.

ginny - $300 junko enoshima wig! sorry for double dipping with danganronpa it was just the first fandom i actually started like. on purpose noting fandom happenings with + a lot of shit happens in that fandom. this one cosplayer who at the time was called snowthesaltqueen / badguyincorporated started selling pre-made (and styled) junko enoshima cosplay wigs for $300. which WOULD be fair (i think? idk how cosplay commissions work) if said wig was styled well or quality at all, but what was ACTUALLY provided was a rly basic wig base and few clips with no note or no nothing, and rly flat. like on purpose. like that was "the styling". also you may recognise this cosplayer for 1) getting in trouble when they did a cosplay photoshoot (danganronpa cosplay funnily enough) in a graveyard, posing ON a gravestone. 2) KILLING SOMEONE. they were screwing around with a firearm and fake pointing it at someone and then they accidentally shot them.

im full of hinaegi thoughts and i really need to share them rn ..

FIRST, people don't talk nearly enough about the natural connection hajime and makoto have with each other, like in the 6th trial, where junko puts that fake makoto here, the others seem to be weirded out by makoto but they don't really know what, and even then they still refer to him by makoto, like sonia saying "makoto? what has happened to you?" but hajime literally says "I knew it.." and "Just as i thought.. There's something wrong with you!" he never says like, this guy is crazy, or that they shouldnt trust him, he clearly says a lot of times that there IS something wrong with him! at some point he even stops refering to junko's 'makoto' by name, it's funny, he only talked to the real makoto for some seconds before the class trial, but he still chose to believe that makoto over the fake one junko literally put in front of them, and it's because of that he discovered his contradictions.

there's also how they both bond a lot in some side events about both being really "common" and i honestly think they would serve as big comfort to one another, i believe even tho hajime would often feel like makoto is way better than him, he would also try to believe how makoto comforts him and says that he is capable of everything. and makoto, i believe he would really look up to hajime without a single ounce of shame now that he saw the real hajime and how much he has grown, but at the same time he would try to be a nice inspiration for hajime after everything that happened in the neo world.

NOW DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THEIR ULTIMATE HOPE PARALLELS, makoto getting his title for defeating junko enoshima, for being himself, for being so so optimistic in a broken world and in the middle of so much chaos, he was a simple dude that became the ultimate hope for being himself, makoto naegi. while hajime got his ultimate hope title when he became izuru, when he stopped being himself.

ALSO, OFFICIAL ARTS, WHY THEY SO DAMN CLOSE ALL THE TIME 🙄 and that wheres just the two of them, YOU CANT TELL ME HAJIME IS NOT PETTING MAKOTO'S HEAD . LOOK AT RHAT

The part where he recognised instantly that there's something wrong with the fake Makoto instantly made me kicks my feet. I think despite Hajime's skepticalism on the real Makoto he talked to before the last trial, he just instantly knew how Makoto is from then, Makoto's way of speech is just so.. normal and he just radiates that harmless, safe aura. No matter how skilled Junko is in acting she can't really completely copy the real Makoto.

And the "common" part is so true!!! It's cause both used to be ordinary people, that they feel more comfortable despite not knowing eachother as much from before. Again, one missed and one regreted of the lost of normalcy they have before. Perhaps together, Hajime could finally appriciated and grateful of the normal life he could have had, while Makoto can still have the normalcy in his life (aside from komaru) despite the condition and his responsibility, not all was lost.

And the official art!!!! I have them in my grasp irl, that 512 pages DR1.2 reload book where half of them filled with DR1 and 2 official arts, I have them in my grasp, the way they look at eachother head in hands, they were so very close and when I first opened it I wonder if they have that in the book and there they are!!! ai kazuichi au 👀 (i mentioned this au before in my soudam week entries)

ai kazuichi exists inside of the digital world as an observer, like chiaki, and is programmed to look after his classmates and to act like the real life ultimate mechanic in the real world

once Gundham and the other students are inside of the Neo World Program, gundham's starting to crush on the mechanic as days on the island pass by :0

tbh whether or not this takes place during the killing game (angst potential!) or island mode (fluff potential! + everything goes somewhat smoothly for them!) is up to you bc i love your creativity! :D

This can go many ways, but I’m gonna go angst and make the world burn by having the reason there’s both AI’s is because both Chiaki and Kazuichi died and that actually sends the class to Despair. Or at least….they thought both died.

He was actually just on the cusp of death when Izuru went to their “game of death” and Izuru felt a deep, instinctive desire to help. Maybe Hajime wasn’t completely lost from the Hope Project, but the young mechanic has been in a coma off and on for two years. He’s horribly disfigured and his body aches so bad he can’t work on large machines ever again and he has about 2/3 of his remaining lung capacity so he’s winded a bit more easily. Not to mention his left arm…or lack of. But he gets a cool replacement like Nagito so it’s all good!

AI Kazuichi and AI Chiaki was crafted partially by Kazuichi it was mainly created by Izuru because I like to think the smidge of Hajime within Izuru at the time made the AI so he could fulfill his dream of being a classmate with his best friend slash femme crush. Kazuichi sadly can’t do much and the Future Foundation keep him close because him being on the island is dangerous in his condition. He made the AI version of himself to be less of a hot mess and to be more open to Gundham who he has realized he wanted to be really be good friends with.

Meanwhile in the NWP, Gundham finds AI Kazuichi more warm and receptive to him and the two get closer. Like they actually get along and interact more, which subconsciously makes the breeder happy because somewhere in his mind he remembers they were “rivals” for Sonia. And now they’re almost besties with Sonia and are actually enjoying their time together.

And maybe real Kaz is living vicariously through the AI as the two grow closer and they start to dance around the idea of being in love. It effects him a lot, because he wonders what could have been if he didn’t let his insecurities get in the way and if Junko hadn’t fucked them all over.

When the killing game starts, Kazuichi demands to be there in person in case something happens when he reality he wants to try to prevent Junko’s plan while also being their personally to mourn Gundham in case they fail. He realizes too late he was in love with the breeder all along and now it feels like it’s too late to do more than mourn for his conscience and soul.

When the game ends, he has to explain to Hajime, Akan’s, Fuyuhiko and Sonia what actually happened to him and Chiaki and how he wished it was Chiaki who lived instead of him. The five work hard to get the others free, with Kazuichi forcefully taken somewhere else to rest and not risk his health but it makes him spiral into depression. When Gundham wakes up, I like to think he seeks him out and what happens happens.

2. They all kind of already have their archetypes. Piper’s the nerd, student council president, but I think she’d also be popular cuz she’s pretty and has a great, friendly personality.

Aerrow’s the jock, the quarterback, the popular guy. But he’s nice to everyone and hates bullies.

Finn’s the class clown, pulls a lot of pranks, gets put into detention.

Junko’s also on the football team but I can see him being in book club. Maybe also theater club.

Stork’s the weird emo loner XD most people avoid him but the gang interact with him every once and a while.

Well I don’t want to reveal too much about what Aerrow goes through during a breakup, since it’s kind of a big arc in my fic, but I’d say…He can understand if things just weren’t going well and he’d respect his partner’s decision if there’s nothing he can do to fix it. But if the split is bad then he takes it bad. I’ll leave it at that.

Piper…she can also understand if someone breaks up with her. She’ll be sad but she’ll do her best to just move on. She’d probably cry on her own though.

Finn acts like he doesn’t care if he’s broken up with, but inside he’s devastated. He really wants to be with someone, so breakups really hurt him.

Junko I can see going two ways, I can see him taking a breakup hard and being very upset. Eats ice cream, cries, the whole nine yards. But I can also see him not taking it too hard, he doesn’t hold it against the other person. He’s sad but he knows he’ll be ok. That’s probably after he’s been in a few relationships.

Stork…well Stork’s kind of aroace to me so he wouldn’t be in a breakup lol. If he *was* in a relationship and gets broken up with, I don’t think he’d take it hard. He’s like “knew it wasn’t worth it, I don’t need anyone” and just moves on. He could be a little upset, be doesn’t dwell on it.

Radarr would be sad if the chicken ever broke up with him, but I think he moves on fast. He’s got other things to think about lol
